The Dartex MelaphosFR system was first used in our mattress cover fabric. The system was developed to ensure that as the legislation and environmental pressure against halogenated flame retardants increased, there remained an effective antidecubitus mattress cover fabric that meets all the other legislative requirements for this product group. In addition the product had to have the same high performance and lifetime as the current products in this demanding market.
In order to develop a stretch, waterproof mattress cover fabric that performs as required we had to alter the precise polyurethane chemistry used for the coating in combination with careful selection of the flame retardants. This has allowed us to produce a material with a halogen free flame retardant that has the same impressive warranty as other Dartex mattress covers.
Dartex's MelaphosFR mattress ticking products deliver the high performance expected of a Dartex coated fabric, using our patented halogen-free MelaphosFR system.
