Transfer Laminating

Our transfer laminating line is a one-off design with great flexibility for handling different substrates. We can also use a variety of techniques such as solution casting films or direct application of hot melt webs. Dartex can laminate films between fabrics rendering them impermeable to both wind and water. This process also achieves high degrees of moisture vapour transport, without interfering with the fabrics' own characteristics such as drape and particularly, stretch. This in turn makes them the most comfortable and protective outdoor wear in the World.
Controlling stretch to nil is desirable in our range of laminated sailcloths where the requirements are extremely demanding. Stability, strength, a lack of water absorbency, keeping it lightweight, salt and UV protected, overall flatness, plus crease and incredible tear resistance are all minimum requirements.
Such is the flexibility of our lamination process we can work from one extreme to the other where stretch is concerned.
