The basic principle of the process of transfer coating or transfer laminating is to solution cast a film on to a carrier medium that can then be transferred to a variety of substrates. An adhesive layer is then added to the film bonding a substrate to the initial layer this can be done using a variety of techniques. Once united, substrate and coating are removed or transferred from the carrier on which it was initially cast. This precision controlled technology offers Dartex the opportunity to create uniform film thickness to provide very consistent properties, maintainable over time, for quality end use products.
Transfer coating and transfer laminating are our core technologies but our equipment also encompasses the ability to laminate incorporating pre-cast hot melt adhesive webs. These processes have the necessary electronic control allowing us to develop, and still lead the market, in waterproofness and stretch for a variety of markets.
