Protective - Safe and Sound
Many people have to work in potentially hazardous situations whether these are created by the extreme vagaries of the weather or through operational exposure to things such as chemicals, electricity or fire. Frequently employees need protecting from operational exposure in inclement conditions then, for further safety, require their clothing to be highly visible, too.
These days protective, waterproof apparel falls into two main categories dependent on the balance of requirements: Tough, 'wipe clean', weatherproof where the protective polyurethane is cast on to the exterior of the garment; and, in cleaner environments, very highly breathable membranes which are laminated to the garment interior.
