Moulding - Form and Function
Dartex Coatings has seen many associated developments from our pioneering of stretch waterproof cover fabrics for hospital mattresses. Success in this market soon saw our fabrics utilised in seating applications.
Their stretch characteristics have seen them taken into injection moulded applications where they are used not just in healthcare but more general seating areas, such as supermarket trolleys, vehicular cabs, sports utility cars and even motorbikes. Our fabrics can be reversed to textile side up for personal discreet waterproofing products such as private wheelchair cushions or commode seats.
- Mouldable
Dartex not only has a core range of fabrics suitable for loose seating, but has also developed a customised range of coated products suitable for mouldable cover application. - Durability
Taking advantage of Dartex products' inherent combinations of anti-mycotic properties and cutting edge polyurethane coating technology also guarantees fabric with excellent durability. Dartex's fabrics achieve impressive results in flexibility, stretching, ageing and abrasion tests ensuring longevity in use - Fluid Proof
Dartex's fabric maintains waterproof properties under the most demanding conditions. Using only premium polyurethanes, Dartex fabrics exhibit excellent hydrolysis resistant aspects eliminating potential risks from cross contamination both as new and over time. - Reversible
Dependent on end use requirements, Dartex fabrics can be utilised on either textile or coated faces, giving flexibility and optimising comfort. - Stretch
Using two/four way stretch properties will reduce interface pressure and optimise surface support for the body. Stretch also means our fabrics are ideal for moulding processes. - Infection Control
Biostatic (anti-mycotic) coatings provide an impenetrable barrier to virus and bacteria. Dartex fabrics are weldable, by either RF or ultrasonic techniques. Welded seams are impermeable to air and water, minimising risks of infection and in moulded products the need for seams can be removed. - Biocompatibility
Dartex Fabrics are subjected to extensive biocompatibility testing. All products are ‘Oekotex' certified and tested. We also test for compliance with ISO 10993 biocompatibility skin irritation, sensitisation and cytotoxicity requirements. All Dartex products are latex free. - Anti-decubitus
Dartex's anti-decubitus support surfaces are specifically designed to prevent pressure sores - MVT/MVP Breathability
Moisture vapour transfer or ‘breathability', properties in Dartex fabrics, help preserve the skin's normal condition optimising patient comfort. Dartex fabrics can be manufactured with enhanced or reduced levels of ‘breathability'.
