Healthcare - Care with Comfort
Dartex Coatings has manufactured literally millions of metres of Dartex fabric found in hospitals all over the globe. No other transfer coating company can match its prestige or proven track record. We are proud to acknowledge that Dartex fabrics significantly contribute to the health and quality of life for patients world-wide.
Our fabrics are designed and developed specifically to deliver optimum patient care and wellbeing in the demanding field of pressure sore prevention, whilst enhancing infection control.
Through innovations in the knitting and coating process we have pioneered stretch waterproof cover fabrics that are benchmarked throughout the world.
- Anti Decubitus
Dartex’s anti-decubitus support surfaces are specifically designed to prevent pressure sores. Using two/four way stretch properties interface pressures are reduced and the optimum surface support for the body is achieved: patient comfort is therefore greatly enhanced. - Fluidproof
Dartex’s fabric maintains waterproof properties under the most demanding healthcare conditions. Using only premium polyurethanes, our fabrics exhibit excellent hydrolysis resistance eliminating potential risks from cross contamination both as new and over time. - Infection Control
Biostatic (anti-mycotic) coatings provide an impenetrable barrier to virus and bacteria. Dartex fabrics are weldable, by either RF or US techniques. These seams are impermeable to air and water, minimising risks of infection. - Biocompatibility
Dartex Fabrics are subjected to extensive biocompatibility testing. All products are ‘Oekotex' certified. We also test for compliance with ISO 10993 biocompatibility skin irritation, sensitisation and cytotoxicity requirements. All Dartex products are latex free. - Flame Retardance
Using technical expertise, precise and repeatable manufacturing capabilities, Dartex fabrics meet and exceed today’s most stringent international flame retardant standard, BS EN 7175 and equivalents. - Wipe Clean
Ease of cleaning and low maintenance makes Dartex fabrics the ultimate choice for installation in a controlled, hygienic environment. - MVP/MVT Breathability
Moisture vapour transfer or ‘breathability’, properties in Dartex fabrics, help preserve the skin’s normal condition optimising patient comfort. According to customer specifications, Dartex fabrics can be manufactured with enhanced or reduced levels of ‘breathability’. - Durability
Taking advantage of Dartex products’ inherent combinations of anti-mycotic properties and cutting edge polyurethane coating technology also guarantees fabric with excellent durability. Dartex’s healthcare products achieve impressive results in flexibility, stretching, ageing and abrasion tests ensuring longevity in use. - Reversible
Dependent on end use requirements, Dartex fabrics can be utilised on either textile or coated faces, optimising patient comfort. - Patient Transfer
Dartex has also developed products where the shear, or slip, characteristics of the coated fabrics are altered in order to enhance patient transfer properties. This range requires a balancing of patient comfort and antidecubitus considerations. - Options
Dartex manufactures a comprehensive portfolio of options tailored to exacting customer specifications as well as defined medical end use applications including :- Conductive/anti-static fabrics- Minimising accumulation of static in certain healthcare environments. Double coated fabrics – extended rigidity and stability attributes. Coloured /un-dyed substrates and coatings – Extensive options available on request. Colour printed substrates - Available to order. Scrim reinforced fabrics for specialist use in psychiatric institutions.
