As an International business with technical competence and innovation in transfer coating and transfer laminating on both sides of the Atlantic we are frequently approached to provide custom solutions for a number of diverse businesses.
For example, we have engineered fabrics and coatings that provide solutions to the high cost of underground pipe repair. Major service providers and municipalities are currently using Dartex products throughout the Cured in Place Pipe Industry (C.I.P.P.). See case study below.
Frequently Custom Solution requests involve Non Disclosure Agreements such that many of the exciting projects we are involved in cannot be publicised. However an eclectic mix of those in the public domain appear below.
Light fastness and abrasion
Due to the versatility and diversity of our fabric Dartex has achieved the exacting standards of light fastness and abrasion resistance for several major automotive companies. Plain and matt coatings are used for visuals such as embossed and leather textures and contrast coloured mesh laminates. These products are made incorporating polyurethane thereby avoiding plasticisers, carcinogenic consequences and the other 'end of life issues' associated with traditional PVC.
lighting effects
Dartex Coatings ' diverse range of fabrics has turned the heads of lighting companies to provide a range of subtle lighting effects. Two Coloured transfer laminates create nuances of illuminations. Semi opaque transfer coatings on a variety of textile substrates enhance the overall radiance. The stretch and pliability of these coated fabrics facilitate ornate and contemporary lamp design.
Trenchless technology (CIPP)
With the escalating costs and inconvenience of ground pipe repairs, there is an increasing requirement for alternative solutions to traditional methods of trench excavation. Technology is now available to line the existing damaged pipes with watertight, flexible Dartex' coated fabrics. Our Trenchless products allow for the repair of lateral and angled pipes of varying dimensions. These are welded into tubes creating both a carrier on the outside of drainpipe resin to effect repair and a biodegradable waterproof lining of polyurethane for drainpipe efficacy. Dartex has positioned itself as a leader in providing the most cost effective and quality conscious products for this industry.
PSA films
Dartex's unique transfer lamination production line has been proven to be ideal for the consistent application of pressure sensitive adhesives.
Air flow fabrics
Dartex patented a method of distributing air; gas or fluid within the construction of a double-coated fabric which itself enables the individual tailoring of precise outlets for additional comfort or therapy. There is a myriad of potential end uses including automotive seating; sheeting for burns patients, equine rugs and chemotherapy skullcaps.
Shapewear
With its unique laminating process Dartex is able to combine 2 layers of stretch fabrics with low modulus and still create modern control and shapewear fabrics which are breathable, offer superb handle, optimum fit and comfort, durability and shape retention. Ideal fabrics for modern shapewear; invisible support, smooth finish, clean cut selvedges and, if desired in swimwear, garment reversibility.
