Stop The Pressure!

How together, we can STOP THE PRESSURE!

STOP THE PRESSURE

Finally, it is becoming widely recognised that by not providing patients with the correct support surface they need, the suitable levels of care cannot be provided, compromising the health of patients. Prevention should always be a priority rather than treatment as many pressure ulcers can be prevented!

How Dartex polyurethane can help

Our fabrics are designed precisely with pressure care in mind, focusing on pressure redistribution, Moisture Vapour Permeability and Infection control to provide a premium support surface fabric for medical devices.

Pressure redistribution:

Having a stretchy fabric on your support surface will help to redistribute the pressure, preventing it developing in a localised area. Dartex product ranges offer a variety of stretch solutions; stretch enables immersing and envelopment of the patient. In the best performing devices the stretch properties of the fabric are matched with the other support surface components.

Moisture Vapour Permeability (MVP):

Microclimate support surfaces help maintain patient comfort and healthy tissue. The permeability of the fabric allows moisture vapour from a patient’s skin to escape, which results in keeping the patient cool and reduces moisture at the skin interface. Check out our research poster A study into how different types of polyurethane-coated covers impact the pressure redistribution properties of medical support surfaces.

Infection Control

Waterproof fabrics prevent contamination and fluid ingress. Weldable fabrics ensure seams are still a barrier to fluid ingress and contamination. Dartex Endurance fabrics are our toughest medical fabric therefore an ideal choice for high through-put environments and tough cleaning regimes.

All of the above not only help to protect patient’s safety but also help to prolong the life of your medical support surface.

Let us help you to choose the correct material for your support surface and lower the long term costs of care.
